Bring a touch of Old World refinement to many different projects, including tablecloths, cloth napkins, pillow cases, nightgowns, blouses, shelf edges, table runners, cuffs and more, using this vintage edging pattern to handcraft exquisite embellishments.
This pattern is a rework of the crochet pattern for the lace edging illustrated in Figure 55 in the A. W. B. Crochet Book, No. 1 from 1913, which is a public domain work. I have translated this pattern into American crochet terminology (the original used UK terminology), and I rewrote it during the process of thorough testing, using modern crochet instructions and pattern formatting, as well as correcting errors and omissions, providing clarifications and making adjustments as necessary. All of this in order to make the pattern easier for modern crocheters to understand, so that they may create this exquisite vintage edging themselves and help ensure that this pattern lives on.
*This pattern is originally for edging, but can also be used to make a beautiful tablecloth or table runner.
